2 Pack LED Camping Lanterns

They are not perfect, but I like them so well that I'm going to give 5 stars anyway.For 3 AA batteries, these lanterns put out an amazing amount of light. I compared the light output from these with some lanterns that I purchased many years ago that run on 4 D cells (yes that's the BIG cylinder batteries), and these put out a zillion times as much light.The ONLY complaint I have is that the little bump on the metal that contact the plus terminal need to be a little more bumped. Its not all Vont Bright's fault, it is also the fault of EBL rechargeable batteries on their AA 2800mAh battery. The Vont lamp and the EBL batteries (only the 2800mAh design) are not compatible. It mystified me at first because the lamp wouldn't light with them in it, and even under magnification I couldn't see a space between the battery terminal and the little metal bump.The fix is to take a tiny screwdriver behind the metal strips (on the lamp) where the bump is and give just a little twist to make the bump protrude a little further.TBW I have two other brands of rechargeables and they work perfect without the modification.

We live in Florida and we never know when storms will knock out our power. So after reading all the reviews on different LED lanterns, these had almost all 5-Stars. We almost bought the military type lanterns "As seen on TV", but the reviewers gave them terrible ratings.We ordered these VONT lanterns on Thursday evening and they arrived Sat. morning. Unbelievable! We bought 4, because orders over a certain amount ship free. I fired up one of these lanterns and it works great - very bright. You turn it on by just pulling it up exposing the LED bulbs. I like the battery compartment too - it is not a flimsy little pop-off door - the entire bottom of the lantern screws off and is made of a heavier plastic.I have only owned them for a couple days, but so far so good. Time will tell how they hold up after use, but I think we made a good decision.Thanks for the fast delivery and the reviews posted that helped us make our decision to buy these.FYI: They take 3 AA batteries. Batteries do not come with the lanterns.

After surviving the big Northern California power outage for 90 hours (�) we quickly went to to stock up on supplies we needed an upgrade on. I specifically picked these lanterns because they take batteries. So many things are rechargeable but without power you can’t recharge. These lanterns arrived, I loaded them up and was blinded by the light (even with the lights on in my house). I’m confident these will be amazing for us through future outages. I particularly love the light shining 360 degrees to allow us to illuminate a room or the entire campstove area out back without having to maneuver and balance flashlights. If I were just camping or in an RV I might think they were too bright, but to be able to illuminate large rooms of a house with high ceilings with one lantern is awesome!!

I received two lanterns with batteries. Unscrew a single cover to insert the batteries, size AA, of which 3 are required for operation. Once installed, simply pull up on the sliding top using the chrome handles and the lantern comes alive. I took mine in the hot tub, under water, floating in the water, and sitting on the deck. I also left it out in the rain. No worries, the lantern kept right on working, even after the interior filled with water.Very light in weight, yet strong. Not made from aluminum, but instead a type of nylon/plastic material that can be handled very roughly without issue. The brightness isn't blinding but is plenty to read by, find gear, or just use on a table while eating a meal after sunset.Overall, a great lantern. The price is great. I keep mine ready in case of power failure, and take a couple when I go camping, just to have that extra light available.

We purchased these lanterns to use outside around our firepit. We live out in the country so there aren't any street or house lights around. These lights do a great job of lighting up the area making is bright enough for people to see what they are doing, keeping the area around the firepit safe. The light doesn't shine up which is good as not to get in our eyes but shines out lighting up the ground around us. I'm going to purchase another pair of these for more lighting outside and for our kids to use in their forts.There isn't an on/off switch, you just pull the lantern up exposing the lights and it turns on. When you want to turn it off you push it down and the lights go off. This also makes the unit much smaller when not in use so doesn't take up must space in storage. Can fit inside a drawer. We'll see how long the batteries last but so far so good.
